The first weekend of the month saw the MacCrone family record a fantastic hat-trick of victories with first young William winning the Junior Distillery Trophy on Saturday 5th , followed later in the afternoon by mum, Catherine Ann, who clinched the Ladies Centenary Trophy(Scratch) with her latest victory, recording the best two rounds from three played with Olive Brown winning the handicap trophy.

The team travelled in hope of recovering the trophy after losing out in the last 2 years, and despite the huge advantage the home side traditionally enjoys in this scratch match, Tobermory were hopeful of at least a decent result. Practice on the Saturday went well with those who hadn't played in the Fort before looking quite comfortable on the course.

On the day however shots were spilled and holes lost until the home team eventually triumphed 5-1. Angus Cowe and John Wilshire played their part by winning their rubber, but otherwise none of the matches reached the 18th.
