It didn't take Peter MacCrone long to get into his stride with yet another victory in the the first tournament of the winter. A superb 35 gave him a net 28.5 to see off opposition from Ian McNaughton and John Weir/Gordon Chalmers (joint 3rd) to continue a superb golfing year.

We'll leave the details to the more fertile imaginations as to how this runs. 9th tee to 7th green and so on...suffice to say geography makes this a baffling tournament even for people who know the course , er, backwards. Phil Higson won with a tidy net 32. More details to follow...possibly

Winter draws on.....

After a long season, the opportunities to play competitive golf become fewer, and many members have been enjoying a respite and trying to get the jobs done they'd been dodging all summer. That doesn't mean that nothing's been happening though.

John Weir's been keeping the junior bandwagon rolling with a couple of  9-hole medals and on 27th October the youngsters had their own prizegiving at Posh Nosh Café, Pictured below are John's clutch of promising boys. There was a fair spread of prizes and every one of the lads was praised for their application and camaraderie over the year.

And on ......

The gents November medal was won by Ian McNaughton. The Dinner Dance and Prizegiving returned after a three year gap to the Western Isles Hotel on the 11th, where we dined well and were treated to some fine ceilidh music by Fergie MacDonald, master of the button box.

The traditional  Hangover Trophy the next day was won by Phil Higson who refused to let the early hour and late night deflect him from his work. More soon...
